WHAT: At the Women’s Arm Wrestling Championships—with proceeds going to The Red Door Family Shelter—a bystander, at left, “comes from nowhere to reach the top three,” photographer Nancy Paiva explains; the battle, she says, ends up being “the best fight of the evening” (top). Ten minutes later, it’s the final round (bottom), lined up by referee Scotty B. Goode—and said bystander is felled easily by the returning champ.
