Torontoist is ending the year by naming our Heroes and Villains of 2010—Toronto’s very best and very worst people, places, and things over the past twelve months. This week, it’s all about the Villains, and today, it’s all about the wet blankets—the ones who ruin the party for everyone else.

201012-heroesandvillains-pride.jpg   Pride, which didn’t have as much as usual to be proud of this year.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-imagineconcert.jpg   The Imagine Concert, the biggest concert in Toronto history that wasn’t.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-beergardens.jpg   Beer gardens, single-handedly making the otherwise wonderful combination of alcohol and outdoor concerts un-fun.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-nuitblanche.jpg   Nuit Blanche, one mega-crowded all-night art mess.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-bandwidth-caps.jpg   Bell and Rogers’ bandwidth caps, arbitrarily limiting the unlimited wonders of the internet, all to make an easy buck off us.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-artsfunding.jpg   Private arts funding, a wolf in sheep’s clothing when it’s held higher than public arts funding.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-Hedo-Turkoglu.jpg   Hedo Turkoglu, the Toronto Raptors’ highest-paid non-entity.

Today’s just the beginning: we’re revealing more Villains daily until December 17. From December 20 to 24, it’s the Heroes‘ turn, and, from December 27 to 30, you can vote for Toronto’s Superhero and Supervillain of the year.
