Heroes and Villains 2010: Villains: Civics Trainwrecks

Torontoist is ending the year by naming our Heroes and Villains of 2010—Toronto’s very best and very worst people, places, and things over the past twelve months. In our final day of Villains, we glance nervously towards City Hall, the candidates who fought to get there, the voters who couldn’t care less, and, of course, our new mayor.

201012-heroesandvillains-villain-roccorossi.jpg   Rocco Rossi, a bocce-balled mayoral candidate who still managed to be totally impotent.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-adamgiambrone.jpg   Adam Giambrone, who quit the race in shame and took all hopes of a progressive mayoralty with him.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-nickkouvalis.jpg   Rob Ford’s campaign team, who saw to their candidate’s big win—at any cost, and by any means necessary.
201012-heroesandvillains-villain-eligiblevoters.jpg   Toronto’s eligible voters, who got us into this mess in the first place.

That’s it for this year’s Villains; you can view the whole set here. Next week, from December 20 to 24, it’s the Heroes‘ turn, and, from December 27 to 30, you can vote for Toronto’s Superhero and Supervillain of the year.
