In today’s Urban Planner, crafty comedienne Amy Sedaris’ book and Usher’s OMG tour come to town, Tarragon’s Andrew Lamb talks about Moliere’s The Miser, and students celebrate Movember.
SIGNING: Comedienne and crafty lady Amy Sedaris is bringing her Crafts For Poor People Book Tour to Toronto this evening; she’ll be at the John and Richmond Chapters, signing books and accepting all manner of strange and shoddy fan-made presents. LECTURE: Tarragon Theatre‘s Andrew Lamb is participating in the Toronto Public Library’s Performing Arts Lecture Series, giving a talk on the themes of French playwright Moliere’s most famous play, The Miser (which opens in December at Tarragon). CONCERT: Smooth singer, astute media mogul, and Justin Bieber discoverer Usher brings his OMG Tour to Toronto tonight, with special guest Trey Songz. Air Canada Centre (40 Bay Street), 7:30 p.m., $27.25–$125.
FUNDRAISER: With just two days left to grow your Mo(vember mustache), the folks at TO Ur MO (a group project started by Humber College students) are throwing a wrap-up party for those participating in the month-long men’s health charity event. They’ve landed These Electric Lives, who won the 2010 Indie Week Canada competition last month, as headliners, supported by Crash Bang Booms and BF Soul. El Mocambo (464 Spadina Avenue) , doors at 8 p.m., $10 (proceeds go to Movember Canada).
