- Christmas is still a ways off, but Fordmas is right around the corner. (Actually, it coincides with the first night of Chanukah.) On December 1, Rob Ford will begin answering to “Your Worship.” Torontoist photo editor Michael Chrisman spotted the above festive (we guess?) stencil at Queen Street and Dovercourt Road.
- In other municipal-minutiae news, the City just revamped their City Council and Committee Meetings, Agendas, and Minutes page. It was ugly before; it’s really nice looking now. Things are about to get interesting at City Hall, so let’s hope there isn’t too much additional debugging that has to happen.
- Last Friday, at Roy Thomson Hall, there was a debate on the merits of religion between noted not-religious-guy Christopher Hitchens and noted guy-who-is-Tony-Blair Tony Blair. It’s now on YouTube, in its entirety. And yet, Munk Debates is still trying to sell it for $2.99.
- Did you know a group of ducks is called “a paddling”? No? Then Toronto Public Library’s First and Best Booklist, consisting of “the very best in Canadian books for children from birth to age five,” might have something to offer you.
