- The Entertainment District BIA, whose logo we giggled at previously, is in the process of weighing options for the construction of a new public square at King and John Streets. They’ve already solicited designs and narrowed the field down to five finalists. Now, the public can vote for their favourites.
- The Don Valley Parkway has the tenth slowest typical rush hour in North America, according to Navteq, a company that provides digital mapping and location data. Ah, more good news.
- “In Canada, bikes became a campaign issue in mayoral elections this month in Toronto, where a critic of lanes prevailed,” says the New York Times. Apparently, our bike infrastructure backlash is but one instance of a hot new trend that’s sweeping the continent.
- The Star admitted today that it might have accidentally been just a little bit racist that time it published an article about how Asians could be ruining our schools. Meanwhile, the Maclean’s story that caused all the controversy is still, presumably, raising hackles.
