Extra, Extra: Dancing With Dinosaurs, Stampeding With Buffalonians, and Debating With Hitchens
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
- Phil Villeneuve, back from Paris, has released yet another video of himself dancing in a public place, in Toronto. This time, he managed to get inside the Michael Lee-Chin crystal at the ROM. He’s joined this time by Baby Girlz, a crew of teenage backup dancers—the video was a collaboration with Arts For Children and Youth. Dinosaur bones are also involved. Better you see for yourself.
- How many of the people in this Black Friday stampede at a Target in Buffalo do you suppose were Torontonians, just there for the exchange-rate bargains?
- Tonight, at Roy Thomson Hall, Christopher Hitchens and Tony Blair are going to be debating whether or not religion is a force for good in the world. Tickets sold out fast, and they sold out completely, but you can still watch a livestream of the event from home, if you’ve got five bucks. There’s also a simulcast event at the Appel Salon at the Toronto Reference Library, if you’ve got eighteen. (Nine, if you’re a student.)
