Extra, Extra: Eye Sets Sights on Police, Varsity‘s Definitely Racist, And a Bit of Bosh-Bashing
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
- Is Eye Weekly about to end Julian Fantino’s political career? The first part of a multi-part series on police corruption doesn’t point the finger at Julian Fantino—former Toronto Police Chief, then Ontario Provincial Police Commissioner, now federal candidate in Vaughan—for any as-yet-unknown wrongdoing so much as vaguely gesture towards him, and hint that more is coming.
- The Varsity peered inside the homes of six U of T students, all of whom happened to be white, which of course means that the paper and the whole university is racist. (Sample exhausting comment: “I guess we have not changed much since the days of Mackenzie King, when students would walk around smoking, being the rich Sons of the wealthy White Anglo Saxon People.”)
- And poor Chris Bosh—he’s gone from local hero to mocked subject of this “Like a Bosh” video, a send-up of this.
