More Then and Now Photos From Erik Mauer

You can never have too much of a good thing. Especially when that thing is Erik Mauer’s awesome superimposed then-and-now photos. In contrast with his last set, which mostly consisted of shots of buildings, the images in this round are packed with people, construction projects, tax bills, fake trenches, shriners, and First World War tanks.
In an email, Mauer told Torontoist that he specifically focused on Old City Hall this time around to highlight the “significant events” and “huge rallies and parades” that were once held there, which “reflect a time that has long since passed.”
His next set, he says, will look at “places in Toronto that were once modern and well-kept but have long since slipped into neglect and decay.”
We can’t wait.
