TTC Announces Finalists in Its “Name the Boring Machines” Contest
About a month ago, the TTC announced that they had two pairs of tunnel-boring machines that needed names, because apparently naming tunnel-boring machines “is tradition.” They invited the public to submit monickers for the borers, and now the finalists are online, and you can vote for your favourites. The four machines will be used to dig the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension, making them important components in Toronto’s transit future―and so we can’t afford to screw up the naming process, people. “Bitsy and Bory” have a nice, alliterative ring to them, so they get Torontoist’s official endorsement.
