Wine and canape chess in the Ryerson Theatre is much more interesting for those playing than those watching. Rowdy spectators tried to clap, but were shushed. Players are moving around wine glasses on a chess board—the better the wine, the more important the chess piece. Oh, and the “modified harp” performance alongside the players is a harp draped in balls of cloth. Some music would be nice.
