Extra, Extra: Concerts, Deodorants, and Double Downs
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
- ConcertsTO is a simple but nice Toronto concert listings board, one that aggregates not just concerts but where to buy tickets locally, and whether those tickets are sold out.
- Come at the king, you best not miss. Sorry, Axe—you can’t one-up Old Spice’s ads with the usual bro-boosterism.
- Stick a fork in it: Kate Carraway’s “My Life, My Fault” Eye column is done. In its place is “Thirtyish,” Carraway’s new advice column “about love, sex, relationships, friends, family, career, work, faith, purpose, creativity, whatever.” You know, the usual ish.
- No doubt as a direct result of our investigation into the KFC sandwich’s serious health effects, the provincial government will maybe “look at and review” the Double Down sandwich.
- On Urban Toronto, some before and after photos of Woodbine Heights (2007 vs. 2010), and some before shots of Parkdale (circa 2003).
- Tao Lin knows we exist! Very exciting.
- And bright and early on Wednesday morning—7:25 a.m., more or less—tune in to CBC’s Metro Morning: we’ll be announcing the winners of our better Toronto slogan competition live on the air and on Torontoist simultaneously. Brush up on the ten finalists here.
