• Something to think about: a year after the bookstore was forced to close, the one-time home of Pages Books and Magazines on Queen West is still vacant, waiting for a tenant.
• An actually funny Rob Ford parody video, this one modeled on the City’s hilarious Solid Waste Management ads from a few weeks back? We want it!
• Speaking of the mayor apparent, Windsor city council candidate Matt Ford’s logo looks a little bit familiar.
• KFC is set to launch the legendary Double Down Sandwich here in Canada, on October 18. What’s the Double Down? Well, “two pieces of bacon and processed Pepper Jack cheese” are sandwiched between “two pieces of deliciously seasoned Original Recipe boneless chicken.” It has 1740 mg of sodium. [via @mondoville] You may not be unhealthy brave enough to try it, but Torontoist is, and we’ll report back.
• Sure, you’re probably done with them by now, but there’s one last Nuit Blanche post-mortem we’d especially recommend reading: Leah Sandals’. She breaks her night down into “Yeahs,” “Nahs” and “Wha?-s.”
• And don’t touch that dial (?), since we’re liveblogging tonight’s mayoral debate on planning and development, starting at 7 p.m.
