Extra, Extra: Toronto Goes to the Polls, Toronto Goes Kinda Crazy, and Toronto Tries to Laugh It All Off
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

- Depending on when you’re reading this, polls in today’s municipal election either haven’t closed yet (so go vote!), results are coming in (so check them live on Torontoist and come to our party!), or we’ve elected a new mayor and council (so—hey, are you okay?).
- Video of Dave Meslin’s terrific, timely talk at TEDxToronto, about civic engagement, is online now.
- From the Post, Snakes and Ladders, municipal election–style. (“You get smashed at a Blue Jays game and wrestle the team mascot, Ace. The big bird kicks your ass.”)
- It’s not just the anti–Rob Ford camp: people on the right can make unfunny parody videos, too.
- While Torontoist may be reluctantly endorsing George Smitherman, our Stephen Michalowicz knows who he’s supporting for mayor—the only man with real respect for taxpayers.
- And no matter what happens tonight, one thing’s for certain: we are sincerely going to miss @rebelmayor and Steve Murray‘s mayoralty bids, and—let’s be real—probably very little else about this nearly year-long race.
