Duly Quoted: Stephen Marche
“Mr. Ford offers voters fat. And we want fat. In fat, we see ourselves.”
—Stephen Marche, in a line from his Globe and Mail column about Rob Ford titled “Rob Ford’s not popular despite being fat. He’s popular because of it.” The article was published in Saturday’s paper, and online on Friday night, but the Globe removed it from their website without notice because it was “offensive.” When Torontoist asked Marche on Sunday why it had disappeared, he told us that “I don’t really know.”
