East Meets West, A Traveling Poetry Road Show
The Holy Oak Cafe (1241 Bloor Street West) is the scene of a very special reading tonight that will see a pair of local poets sharing the stage with two Prairie comrades in verse. Toronto’s own Melanie Janisse and Damian Rogers represent the home side, while Winnipeger Ariel Gordon and Saskatchewan Tracy Hamon bring the western vibe. Novelist Ibi Kaslik, who’s done her share of cross-country traveling, will be hosting the event and has promised to wow the crowd with her knowledge of all things geographical.
