We Want Your Eyes and Ears for TIFF 2010

The Toronto International Film Festival is here, and whether you’re brimming with excitement or grimacing at all those celeb-carrying black SUVs that always pop up around downtown, we want you to send us tips, celeb sightings, photos, videos, grievances, stories, accolades, and basically anything and everything else you want to.
Why? Well, we’re going to be covering the crap out of TIFF, and we’re going to try to capture the festival as it really is, and we couldn’t do that without you. Starting soon, our TIFF 2010 site will turn into essentially one big, regularly updated liveblog—full of updates, reviews, photos, and news of our own from our own staff reporters and photographers, and hopefully from you, too.
So, how can you send in stuff that we might feature? And how can you follow along with Torontoist’s coverage? Glad you asked.
IF YOU WANT TO FOLLOW ALONG
- All of Torontoist’s coverage of the Toronto International Film Festival, throughout the whole entire thing, will be collected at torontoist.com/TIFF—and that’s where you should go regularly, if you aren’t already, to get fresh reviews, photos, and updates. Some of Torontoist’s TIFF content will also appear on Torontoist’s home page and in our main RSS feed, but a lot of it won’t. If you love TIFF, you won’t want to miss it.
- If you use Twitter, follow @torontoist to get pointed to some of the best TIFF content on Torontoist and elsewhere throughout the fest. If you use Facebook, add yourself as a fan of ours to get selected updates in your feed, too.
IF YOU’RE SENDING TEXT
There are two main ways you can send us anything TIFF-related, from links to tips to overheard bits of conversation:
- Email it to [email protected].
- If you use Twitter, send your updates @torontoist on Twitter. If we follow you on Twitter, you can also send us a private Direct Message. (If we don’t follow you, just @ us on Twitter and ask us to.)
IF YOU’RE SENDING PHOTOS
Whether it’s your SLR or your cellphone that you’re taking photos with, there are three ways you can send us what you shoot:
- Email your photos to [email protected]. Include the time and place each was taken, as well as anything else we should know about what’s pictured. If we publish your shots, we’ll credit you for them (so tell us if you want us to link the credit to somewhere, like your online portfolio).
- Add your shots to Torontoist’s Flickr pool, and if you want to be especially great, email [email protected] to tell us when they’re added. Include the time and place each photo was taken, as well as anything else you think we should know, either in the email or in the description on Flickr. If we use your photos, we’ll link back to their Flickr pages.
- Through Twitter, send whatever shots you snap @torontoist. We’ll credit you and link to your Twitter profile if we use what you capture.
