New Poll Has Rob Ford Pulling Away In Mayor’s Race

A Nanos poll will be released Sunday that shows Rob Ford polling “somewhere in the high 40% range,” the Toronto Sun reports. A Smitherman spokesperson told the paper that “I don’t have the numbers, but Ford is well ahead and we are in second place.” UPDATE, SEPTEMBER 19, 10:58 AM: Make that 51%, suggests the Star‘s David Rider on the paper’s politics blog, The Goods. Rider also reports that the results of the poll will be revealed on CTV and CP24 on “Sunday night.” UPDATE, 6:20 PM: The Globe has the details: Ford’s at 45.8% among decided voters, with a twenty-four-point lead over George Smitherman.
