Thursday night’s Score opening gala pulled out all the stops to represent hockey culture, from strung-up jerseys overhead to an ice rink dance floor. Caterers in referee uniforms slung designer popcorn while buffet bars offered up gourmet poutine and hot dogs. If the international community didn’t have a neatly cliched view of Canadian culture before, it should be nice and cemented now. RYAN WEST
