Rob Ford Leads Mayoral Race in New Ipsos Reid Poll
Global News has released the results of a new Ipsos Reid poll that shows Rob Ford well ahead of other mayoral hopefuls. According to the poll—conducted for Global, Newstalk 1010, and the National Post—Ford stands well ahead of the herd at 32%, in spite of recent scandals. George Smitherman follows with 21%, Sarah Thomson with 10%, Joe Pantalone with 9%, and Rocco Rossi with 7%. Of those polled, 22% remain undecided. With the undecided votes removed from the sample, Ford comes out even stronger, with 41% to Smitherman’s 28%. Were Mayor David Miller running for reelection, however, the poll also found that he—and not Rob Ford—would be leading the pack.
