Extra, Extra: Flipping Off, Flipping Out, Starting Up
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
Easy there, Pirandello Street.
- Some people just don’t like Google Street View. One Liberty Village driver was so unimpressed with the tech giant’s all-seeing car that he apparently flipped the camera the bird while it passed by. Torontoist reader Daniel St. James made the discovery just a few days ago and sent it in to us, knowing that we would eat it right up.
- Today, in passive-aggressive (or maybe just aggressive-aggressive) handmade signs, a “POLITE FUCKING WARNING” to an unappreciated litterer, on a newspaper box on Queen West.
- More interesting than you’d expect is this massive photo-collection of Toronto street signs, from Urban Toronto.
- Toronto Star designer Miguel Vadillo swam across Lake Ontario last week, and naturally, one of the Star‘s photographers tagged along.
- From this weekend’s anniversary party for the 2003 blackout, lots of photos and videos from the Urban Repair Squad here, here, here, and here.
- And at the band’s weekend Olympic Island concert, NOW shot video of the Arcade Fire playing “Ready to Start.” Eye thought it wasn’t that great.
