Extra, Extra: Scott Pilgrim‘s in a Video Game, Mayoral Candidates Talk on the G20, and Saw 3D‘s in Toronto
Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.
Lee’s Palace, in a still from the new Scott Pilgrim vs. the World video game trailer.
- The latest trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (the video game, not the movie) is out. In the game, you can apparently buy food at Sneaky Dee’s, ride a TTC bus, and fight at Lee’s Palace. Just like real life!
- One month later, what do mayoral candidates have to say about the G20? Neal Jennings emailed all of them, along with candidates for Ward 27, Toronto Centre, to ask, and he’s publishing all of the responses.
- Guy-and-gal photographer team Istoica were at Whippersnapper’s closing party last Friday, snapping photos of all the dead and undead attendees, who posed in coffins.
- If you weren’t proud enough already that Repo Men was shot here, surely you’ll be cheering for the seventh and final movie in the irredeemably awful Saw series, Saw 3D. In its new trailer, you can spot Roy Thomson Hall, about twenty-one seconds in—and it looks like some torture scenes in the movie will play out in public outside Metro Hall.
- Hodo Kwaja in Koreatown has long had a wonderful walnut cake machine. If you haven’t seen it yet, get ready for this.
- And last but not close to least, a week from midnight, submissions close for our competition to find a better slogan for Toronto. (The Post just wrote about it, too.) Enter it, why don’t you? Or do you not care about Toronto, or winning amazing prizes?
