Air Canada Hassles Dying Child, Draws Truly Terrible Headlines

Or, as the Star put it: “Air Canada breaks dying boy’s wheelchair.” Ten-year-old muscular dystrophy sufferer Tanner Bawn, of Vancouver, flew to New York City yesterday with his aunt, Toronto-based blogger Catherine Connors, to participate in an event called “Tutus for Tanner,” to raise awareness of muscular dystrophy, while also drumming up donations to help renovate Tanner’s mother’s house, so that he can live the remainder of his life at home. Air Canada disassembled the $15,000 wheelchair for shipping, but couldn’t reassemble it. The internet is outraged. [UPDATE, 3:48 PM: The internet wins.]
