| FIELD NOTES: | The G20, Canada Day, and Pride have now all come and gone, leaving marks on the city in various ways—some big, some good, some small, some bad. If you look closely, however, you can still find these small silhouetted symbols of our national identity, daubed in patriotic red. On the streets of Toronto, and in the context of recent events, the facing-off beavers lose some of their simplistic Canadiana kitschiness and become a bit more muddy. |
