• Say goodbye (for now) to one of the best things to come from the Toronto Star‘s online half: the paper’s Map of the Week blog. Patrick Cain, the Star‘s web editor, is leaving, and so the blog is folding, too. Luckily for all of us, Cain’ll still be building maps of his own elsewhere, like this one of subway station ridership on his blog.
• Another change at another Torstar property, as transit columnist Ed Drass has been booted from the transit beat at Metro. Or, as the Star‘s Goods blog put it, “Commuter paper cuts transit column.”
• Quick: choose one media outlet in the city that has “ridiculously over-aspirational swagger”! Yep, it’s Toronto Life new magazine KINGWEST as described by Toronto Life. The line led Ryan Bigge to take a moment to demonstrate that “ridiculously over-aspirational swagger” is Toronto Life‘s bread and butter.
