books_badge_medium.gif The Toronto Comics Art Festival is back again, showcasing over two hundred cartoonists from around the world, including Daniel Clowes, Paul Pope, Dash Shaw, James Sturm, Jeff Lemire, Jim Woodring, and Tom Spurgeon. Those artists will come together at venues in and around the Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge Street) on May 8 and 9 to exhibit their art and book projects, discuss and promote their work via panels and readings, and answer the inevitable questions from fans and budding cartoonists. There will also be plenty of panel discussions, parties, and book launches leading up to the main event—and of course the Doug Wright Awards party happens on Saturday night.
Below is a by-no-means-exhaustive list of some of the great pre-TCAF events happening in the city. Keep checking back with [email protected] for daily coverage and preview events beginning Wednesday.
