Extra, Extra: Robyn, Mintz, and Doors Open List
Torontoist closes out each weekday with a quick collection of just about everything we think you ought to care about (or ought not miss)—say hi to Extra, Extra.
- People have been asking us to post this for weeks, but we just finally watched it the whole way through, and it is great, so here we go: in April, Phil Villeneuve broke out some sweet dance moves to Robyn’s “Fembot,” at the Eaton Centre (video above). We’ll take this over a flash mob any day.
- It looks like TTC headquarters might be moving from Yonge and Davisville. In a release this afternoon, the TTC announced that they were “consider[ing]…an agreement to explore a long-term lease arrangement between the TTC and Build Toronto at 4050 Yonge St.” Quick, mayoral candidates: feign outrage! You first, George Smitherman.
- Last week, Doors Open released their list of buildings that’ll be open to the public this May 29 and 30. More to come from us for this year’s Doors Open soon.
- Over in Hamilton, a crocodile’s been spotted in a pond. It’s now, says the Globe, “the object of a determined search and rescue mission.” Hamilton!
- Today is Toronto Star food columnist Corey Mintz‘s birthday. Let’s celebrate by helping him find a flat mate .
