Extra, Extra: Women, Mexicans, and Cyclists
Torontoist closes out each weekday with a quick collection of just about everything we think you ought to care about (or ought not miss)—say hi to Extra, Extra.
- Yikes! Pictured above are two ads created by BBDO Toronto for Quesada Mexican Grill, in which we learn that “REAL MEXICANS” are either lazy, or professional wrestlers. Very appropriate, tasteful advertising. [: Quesada’s owner Steve Gill, meanwhile, clarifies the campaign here.]
- Banksy week on Torontoist continues today, with our list of where you can find all of the street artist’s Toronto pieces, as well as what state they’re currently in.
- We told you about it last week, and now Toronto Police are confirming it [PDF]: the G20 “Designated Speech Area” will be at Queen’s Park.
- “Is Rob Ford Toronto’s Sarah Palin?” asks Toronto Life, presumably through tears. It’s okay, though, because we’ll all be crying soon enough.
- Sarah Thomson‘s Women’s Post has been removed from Wikipedia, for “Unambiguous advertising or promotion” and “No explanation of the subject’s significance.” Sounds familiar.
- And watch out, Vancouver. When Paula Fletcher finds out about your successful protected bike lanes, she is going to come over there and totally mess that up for you, too.
