Extra, Extra: David Miller Quietly Dethrones Stephen Harper
Torontoist closes out each weekday with a quick collection of just about everything we think you ought to care about (or ought not miss)—say hi to Extra, Extra.
- While the Star‘s Bob Hepburn wrote in today’s paper that David Miller might be the best candidate in this mayoral election (if he were running), Miller got something of a promotion in Spanish-language newspaper El Mundo—he’s captioned in a pic as “el primer ministro de Canadá.”
- MuchMusic is trying to have music videos take up even less of their content—they’re applying to have the form take up one quarter of their programming, down from one half. This is excellent news for people who haven’t yet watched Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
- Andrew Emond, one of the two urban explorers arrested in Toronto’s sewers in April, writes about the experience for this feature-length article on Under Montreal: “Getting caught was the result of bad luck, but also poor decisions, the kind that are easy to make after doing this for years without ever having faced any serious consequences.”
