Everything Old Is New Again
Happy New Year, Torontoist readers! We’re taking it a bit easy today (unless someone new gets outed), but if you’re looking to kill time during the last throes of the holidays, might we suggest some of our year-end features? Unlike the Star, we’ve even kept comments enabled and everything:
- We picked our Heroes and Villains of the year a few weeks ago, and then we turned it over to you to narrow the field. Now, there are just three Heroes and three Villains left, and your votes’ll determine who our Superhero and Supervillain of the year is. So go vote if you haven’t; polls close at midnight this Sunday night.
- Then there are our most popular posts of 2009—several dozen of our most “liked,” most commented-on, and most-read stories of the year. (We really like it when you “like” posts by clicking the “like” button below them.) Try to count how many of the year’s hotter topics you can spot in the roundup’s amazing lead illustration by our own Brian McLachlan.
- And then, finally, there’s a collection of some of our favourite photos of the year from our readers, chosen from the shots from our Flickr pool picked as Daily Photoists over the course of the year. If you’re a photographer, why not join the 3,157–person party that is said Flickr pool?
All the best to you and yours in twenty-ten! We’re really glad that you decided to spend a part of your past year with us.
