Jim Carrey’s Omnipresent Supergalactic Oneness

Last month, Newmarket-born superstar Jim Carrey relaunched his website, which has morphed into a surrealistic, down-the-rabbit-hole affair, as if designed by Terry Gilliam and René Magritte. We were amused to find Toronto playing a cameo role in the “Origins” page, which also features a photo gallery of Carrey’s early days in Newmarket, Burlington, and Toronto. Undoubtedly, our favourite part of the whimsical site is a TTC streetcar being menaced by a giant B-movie octopus, also curled around the CN Tower. It’s a nice nod to the city that spawned the man who pioneered speaking with his anus.
