Rocco Rossi, currently National Director of the Liberal Party of Canada, is apparently resigning his post and getting involved in Toronto’s 2010 municipal campaign. Sources who declined to be named have told us that he will be announcing, Monday morning at 11 a.m., that he is leaving the national office and entering the race for mayor [ Rossi has confirmed that he is running for mayor to the Globe, and on his Twitter].
Rossi was appointed director of the Liberal Party just in January, and has been riding a wave of enthusiasm and fundraising success in that position. He was previously the CEO of the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
More details to come.
