A Pre-Blanche Flock-Up

We just got sent these photos by the Dupont and Spadina Corner Collective, of the group’s early-morning romp through the Annex, which saw them paint over and add flying birds to seventeen illegal billboards in the area—a “Flock Off,” as they’re calling it.
Done to coincide with the City’s new sign bylaw, as well as “alternate Nuit Blanche activities,” a female representative of the Collective explained to Torontoist that the Collective, or Dupsa, focused particularly on billboards along Bathurst, and were out between 3 and 7 a.m. And they wanted to do more: there were three other billboards that they intended to paint over, but weren’t able to because of, they say, “logistical and legal reasons.” Isn’t that always the way?
