CRAFTS: More than twenty local Etsy artisans will combine their talents in an effort to sell wares today at the Gladstone Hotel. The Spring Handmade Market will feature many impulse purchase opportunities, such as Allthingssmall‘s adorable sewn mice (and the above-pictured penguins), Eyesore Design‘s cool record album notebooks, and Stitchface‘s painfully cute eco-friendly stuffed woodland creatures. FASHION: Toronto-based online vintage store UpsideDive are hosting a studio sale today as they prepare to move from their current warehouse to their new location on Queen Street East. There will be racks of clothes priced at $5 or less, $2 shirts and pants, along with loads of kitschy/amazing decor at reduced prices. Cash only. UpsideDive (51C Blake Street), 10 a.m.–3 p.m., FREE.
ART: The Schad Gallery of Biodiversity officially opens today in the Natural History section of the ROM. The new addition to the museum will explore biodiversity through interactive ecosystem displays and films shown in a brand new fifty-nine-seat multimedia space. Also, touchscreens. Royal Ontario Museum (100 Queen’s Park), 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m., included with ROM admission.
FUN:The Impact! Toronto International Circus Festival kicks off today at the Harbourfront Centre. The three-day extravaganza will feature performances from some of the world’s finest acrobats, jugglers, trapeze artists, and clowns.
