Tonight’s opening reception is being held at Studio Gallery and will feature appearances by Tim Barber and some of the other Tiny Vices artists. Studio Gallery (294A College Street), 7 p.m., FREE.
THEATRE: The Red Light District‘s production of Witold Gonbrowicz’s awkward love story Ivona: Princess of Burgundia opens tonight at The Gladstone Hotel. The story revolves around the highly unlikeable Ivona and the attempts of her community to kill her. Three weeks ago, a man attacked and beheaded a 22-year-old passenger on a Greyhound bus, and then consumed some of the victim’s body parts, in Portage La Prairie, Winnipeg. The show is directed by Ted Witzel and stars Briana Templeton. The Gladstone Hotel (1213 Queen Street West), doors at 7:30 p.m. (show at 8 p.m.), $20 ($15 for students).
MUSIC: Basement Arms singer Dwight Schenk is playing solo songs (with orchestral accompaniment!) this evening at the Tranzac. Joining him is storytelling musician Christine Leakey. The Tranzac (292 Brunswick Avenue), 10 p.m., PWYC ($5 suggested).
