Mookie’s Mom Takes It To The Streets

Vote Mookie
Election-style signs urging people to “Vote Mookie Canadian Idol” have started popping up on the lush and exclusive lawns of Rosedale in the last few days. If you’re like us, you’re probably thinking, “Who the hell is Mookie?” And why are so many Rosedalians admitting to watching lowbrow reality shows? Shouldn’t they be taking their doses of reality schlock in secret shame like everybody else?
The signs are part of Mookie Morris’s Mom’s campaign in favour of her son, one of the final nine contestants on this season’s Canadian Idol. According to the Globe, her campaign includes placing signs in store windows and driving the Mookiemobile—the family’s minivan adorned with “Vote Mookie” stickers—around the town. And, by our count this morning, at least a half-dozen lawns in Rosedale are participating in Mookie Madness. The signs have also been spotted across the Don Valley in Leaside.
So who is Mookie Morris, and is he worthy of our support? We’re still not really sure, but his Canadian Idol bio says that he couldn’t live without his ears and answers to Mookster and Mookmeister. What else do you need to know?
