Populist: June 16–22

We publish a lot of articles on Torontoist, and sometimes it’s hard to keep up. Populist is a weekly recap, appearing every Sunday night, that features some of the most popular posts from our past week.

1. The Urbanaut
BY REY ORTEGA
Gleebax finds something he loves more than the TTC: hugging.
2. Wild Toronto: Muskrat
BY ROSEMARY MOSCO
Without Wild Toronto, who else would teach us about the traits of the muskrat in adorable pictorial form? No-one, that’s who.
3. Spiral Beached
BY DAVID TOPPING
Spiral Beach got slapped with a $1470 fine for slapping eight posters on downtown garbage bins. They’ve been holding fundraisers ever since, like this past week’s Whippersnapper Gallery concert, and this auction on eBay for one of the original posters that got them in all this rubbish in the first place (Buy It Now price: a fitting $1470).
4. Pastiche
BY JONATHAN GOLDSBIE
Some people who illegally graffiti really don’t like it when companies decide it’s okay for them to illegally graffiti, too. Or perhaps it’s simpler than that, and some people just really don’t like Vitamin Water, because that shit is weird.
