Populist: February 4–10
We publish a lot of articles on Torontoist, and sometimes it’s hard to keep up. Populist is a weekly recap, appearing every Sunday night, that features some of the coolest, most interesting, most commented, and most recommended posts from our past week.

- Todd Aalgaard and Miles Storey covered Anonymous’ big anti-Scientology protest earlier today. It was weird. (This week’s most recommended post.)
- Marc Lostracco wrote about the latest episode in Rogers’ continuing fetish for small print and abysmal customer service: “unlimited” data! The iPhone has never looked less appealing.
- Maneesh Mohindra wrote about Salman Hossain and his inflammatory, ugly comments about killing Canadian soldiers, Jews, Peter McKay, and adorable sleepy puppies. (This week’s most commented-on post.)
- David Topping capped off DiManno Watch––for now, maybe forever––because, really, once you start beginning articles with “A woman wakes up with a man’s penis between her legs,” the criticism kinda takes care of itself.
- Jonathan Goldsbie discovered some bathroom signs really, really nicely discouraging gay bathroom sex.
- Stephen Johns wrote about baseball players’ intro music, with special attention deservedly payed to mankind’s finest son, Limp Bizkit.
- Stacey May Fowles wrote about every girl’s dream: Disney wedding dresses!
- Miles Storey had great photographs from a protest demanding affordable housing, and Newmindspace’s snowball fight.
- Val Dodge followed up on his last article about pedestrian signals being sponsored by private companies with an update: now we’re paying for ’em. Nice.
- Readers’ favourite photo of the past week (by recommends) was Monday’s photo of a snowy (and beautifully multi-colored) rows and rows of houses, by aardvark.
