The Art Bar returns tonight with its annual Audience Appreciation Night with readings by the Art Bards, live music, and free poetry chapbooks for all audience members by the Art Bar Team.
Also returning for the new year is This Is Not A Reading Series. For the first event of the year, join Carl Wilson and Mark Kingwell for an on-stage discussion where they will be talking about love and stuff, followed by performances from Final Fantasy, Laura Barrett, and The Blankett; an excerpt from the one-woman show, Celine Speaks! by Laura Landauer; and DJ sets by Brian Joseph Davis.
Lastly, if you haven’t already, you can join the rest of city in reading local Torontoist Hero Michael Redhill’s Consolation—winner of the 2007 Toronto Book Award and nominated for the Man Booker Prize. As part of the One Book program, from now through February, Torontonians are invited to read Redhill’s book, which will then be followed by events throughout the city to discuss the book, its themes, issues, and everything else. Reserve your copy now.
