Heroes and Villains 2007

Toronto is a city of heroes and villains, a town with as many planning its progression as there are forcing its regression. With that messy dynamic in mind, Torontoist is ending the year by naming our Heroes and Villains of 2007––the people, places, and things that we’ve either fallen head over heels in love with or developed uncontrollable rage towards over the past twelve months.
While last year’s Love/Hate saw us do a comprehensive run-through of a half-dozen categories and dozens upon dozens of sub-categories, this year we’re keeping it simple: each participating staff member has picked one hero and one villain. That’s it. Starting Boxing Day and running every day right into the new year, we’ll feature those picks: one pair at sunrise, one pair at noon, and another at sunset. When we’re done, we’ll poll our readers and name a Superhero and Supervillain for the year.
The ambivalence begins Boxing Day.
