Redacted Redacted Redacted

Torontoist has 25 admit-two passes to give away to our readers for a promo screening of Redacted at 7 p.m. on Monday November 12, 2007 at the Royal. Directed by Brian De Palma (you’ve probably heard of him) and produced by two Torontonians––Simone Urdl and Jennifer Weiss––Redacted is “a profound meditation on the way information is packaged, distributed and received in an era with infinite channels of communication,” and centres on a group of American soldiers at a checkpoint in Iraq. The lovely press release about the film refers to it as the “apotheosis” of De Palma’s career. Not to be confused with apothesis (“the setting of a fractured or dislocated limb”), apotheosis basically means that this movie makes De Palma a God. It also, apparently, features YouTube videos, and according to IMDb, one of its plot keywords is “Gang Rape.” So it’ll probably be a pretty interesting few hours. The screening also features a post-screening discussion with the Torontonian producers.
To win passes, all you’ve gotta do is enter your name and your favourite Brian De Palma movie in the fields below before this Sunday at noon, when we’ll select a random pack of you to get those sweet, sweet tickets. And if you don’t have a favourite Brian De Palma movie yet, we highly recommend checking out Mission to Mars.
The contest is now closed––winners will be contacted shortly!
