Sunday night at the Gladstone Art Bar will bring a special treat for all the music-loving craft addicts in Toronto when spins & needles, which has been running in Ottawa since 2005, rolls into town for its second event here. The crafting and DJ night starts at 8 p.m. and costs $8 before 10 p.m. and $10 after.
Bring that sewing project that’s been sitting in the back of your closet or raid the craft supply bins provided by the organizers and get inspired by what you find. If you’re new to crafting, it’s the perfect chance to get help from more experienced DIYers. There are also featured projects, for which all supplies and instructions are provided – this time you can choose between a pixel project or a mixed media collage.
spins & needles are also encouraging crafters to start a project for Streetknit, a group that collects and distributes hand knit scarves, hats, mitts, blankets and sweaters to the homeless, or bring a previously finished project to donate.
Providing the soundtrack to fuel your creativity will be DJs Jason P. from Ottawa and Toronto’s Matic and Kris Steeves.
