This Week In Crime
Each week, Torontoist chooses the most interesting cases from the Toronto Police Service crime blotter. All charges are alleged until proven under law.
The incidence of crime, like in election voting and retail sales, falls during periods of cruddy weather. This was a pretty uninteresting week for the criminal element in Hogtown, underscoring our reputation as one of the safest big cities in the world. Still, we had some armoured truck action, a Viagra theft, and The Moustache always strikes twice.

TWIC_pills.jpgFEBRUARY 16: Police arrest a 26-year-old man on an unrelated matter, only to find that he was the suspect responsible for seventeen break-and-enters in the Lawrence Avenue East area since November. Charged with seventeen counts, the guy allegedly looted about $16,000 in merchandise and caused about $3,000 in damage to doors, locks and windows.
FEBRUARY 19: A vehicle parked on Lunness Avenue was broken into and a quantity of prescription drugs was stolen, including Oxycontin, Viagra and nitroglycerin. We hope that whomever the drugs were prescribed to knows that combining nitro with Viagra can bring-on potentially fatal hypotension.
FEBRUARY 19: Two security guards parked their armoured Securicor vehicle at Queen and Roncesvalles to service the ATM inside a variety store. When the guards exited the vehicle, they were ambushed by two suspects in balaclavas, one who pointed a gun at one of the guards while the other disarmed them. The suspects made-off with the cash and are being pursued by police.
FEBRUARY 22: A dry cleaning store is held-up allegedly by the same man who robbed an antique furniture store on February 19. The suspect, who is between 40–45, is described as having a prominent moustache.

FEBRUARY 22: A 25-year-old federal offender is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of parole. The man is serving a sentence for counterfeiting and is known to be in the company of a certain female exotic dancer who has blonde hair (there’s a shock). The guy is known to frequent the GTA, Hamilton and Niagara Falls and goes by the names Ryan Kore, Ryan Henders, Ryan Henderson, Ryan Brown and Michael Kolis.
