The Daily Photoist: Going Through Winter
Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!

Yesterday morning, Toronto saw some of the largest snowflakes we’ve ever seen! Torontoist Flickr pool contributor DanielN seized the opportunity to capture the moment in this shot, where the pop of red in the umbrella really makes the image stand out and conveys just how big those flakes were. Ladies — hope you were wearing your industrial strength waterproof mascara, or chances are pretty good that you walked into work looking like a raccoon if you were travelling through this!
Be sure to have a look at the rest of Daniel’s stream — he has an excellent eye for composition, as well as light and shadow. He also has the coolest bed-jumping set, where he takes photos of himself “in flight” just before departing for and returning from trips abroad.
