North Korea Gives It Up, Fox Threatens To Not Give It Up, And Let It Snow Let It Snow Let It Snow

13cnd-korea_190.jpgNorth Korea agrees to shut down its main nuclear reactor and “eventually” shut down its nuclear weapons program. In exchange for a million tons of fuel oil, of course, but frankly nobody so far has come up with a better plan regarding North Korea than “keep bribing them to do nothing,” so it boils down to a no-score win.
Opposition parties charge that the Tories are stacking judgeship selection committees with conservative partisans to drive Canada further right. The Tories responded with “no we didn’t do it first,” providing a (smaller) list of Liberal patronage appointments in a desperate attempt to turn it into a he said/she said argument.
Howard Moscoe wants to end the disabled permit parking system. His argument is that the current system is abused by people who don’t really need disabled parking permits, and so he suggests a new system be installed that is nonspecific in how it fixes this problem. (Torontoist suggests something involving cameras in all parking meters, watching us, all the time!)
Tories appear to be dragging their feet on a bill that would curb movie piracy. Noteworthy is the fact that 20th Century Fox has threatened to withhold movie distribution in Canada, which is possibly the most bullshit Hollywood threat ever. “We’re not going to try and make money in your country! We’ll… just go make more money in Holland! Ha!”
And finally, it’s gonna snow a lot today.
