This Is Not A Film Series

2007_01_12fired2.jpgFresh from their holiday break, the fine folks at This Is Not A Reading Series kick off the Winter/Spring 2007 season with…a film? Well, partly. This evening, join TINARS at the Royal Cinema as they celebrate the launch of Annabelle Gurwitch’s new book, Fired! Tales of The Canned, Canceled, Downsized & Dismissed. As the title would suggest, the book is comprised of tales of getting the axe from a host of contributors, from Bill Maher to Bob Saget.
Gurwitch, who is perhaps best-known as the co-host of the TBS series Dinner and a Movie, as well as for being a contributing writer to NPR’s Day to Day, will be joined by local luminaries Scott Thompson, Elvira Kurt, Paul Bellini, and Darryl Dinn. After the performances and book signing stay for a screening of the companion piece Fired!: The Documentary, which features Tim Allen, Andy Dick, Jeff Garlin, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Silverman and a host of others.
The event begins at 6:30pm, and as with all TINARS events, this is absolutely free.
