The Daily Photoist: Unlimited Incoming Calls …..
Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!

The Daily Photoist returns to its regular (daily) schedule today. The above image by photographer TorontoStreet (James Dawson) caught our eye. In his description of the photo, he explains the circumstances:
While walking along Queen West this afternoon I caught sight of this young woman. She saw me as well walking down the other side of the street. There was obvious eye contact. I raised my camera slowly to see if she would turn away. When she didn’t I took the shot ….I loved the way she stood … like a model.
Anyone who’s done a bit of candid street photography knows the challenge in finding a willing subject. Most of us are too paranoid to let random strangers take our photo, so it’s an unexpected treat to find someone not only willing, but actually interested in participating in the act. Still, our favourite part of the photo is the other woman in the shot — whose face appears to be reacting to the whole posing affair.
