Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!
You heard it here first: Bowling is the new yoga.
After years away from the ancient game (the Egyptians were bowling in 3200 BC), the Christmas holidays seemed to be filled with it. We spent hours and hours bowling with a variety of friends and family. To be fair, it was all Wii Sports bowling, but that virtual play is pretty darn convincing. Then a strange thing happened: People started to suggest we leave the comfort of our living room for the kitch joys of Danforth Bowl and the ten-pin snobbery of Bathurst Bowlerama.
So in honour of this new trend that our post will clearly and inevitably inspire, we’ve picked an awesome photo by Torontoist Flickr pool contributor fotograf.416 (Mike Rotenberg). The intense colours, the reflections, and the pins in action bring back many a memory of Wii injury. We think it’s cool the way this image looks almost painted, and it goes without saying that he’s caught this at just the exact perfect moment.
