Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!
Over the past six months, Toronto photographer Martinho (Tino Reis) has been using his skills (and his Flickr account) to create the comprehensive Toronto PasteUp Art Archive. If it’s been adhered to a wall using wheat paste, there’s probably a pic of it in his collection. The images range from quirky to silly to though-provoking.
Of all the pieces he’s collected, it was this image above — with its haunting, intense, eyes — that kept us coming back. We also like the way this photo is framed, with that fragment of bike in the lower-right corner for scale. [This one, as it turns out, was done by our very own Fauxreel. Martinho has also compiled an awesome Toronto Street Stencil Archive that is definitely worth a visit. And if you know of something missing from his collection, drop him a line. Just let him know Torontoist sent ya.
