The Daily Photoist: Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 2006
We’re experimenting with a new daily photo posting. Each weekday morning, we’ll pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!
Only one weekend of Christmas shopping remains. Hey, we’re all for getting presents for our loved ones, but what really gets to us are the crowds. We get all nihilistic and start quoting Sartre: “Hell is other people.”
That’s what attracted us to this shopping image by .JL. (Jackson Loi) — the empty streets, the near empty store window, the lone shopper on a mission — it’s a portrait of a Christmas shopping paradise.
